Welcome to Nest, a small, family-focused day nursery tucked away in the leafy suburb of Dringhouses, York (formerly known as The Wendy House).

With space for just 22 children, we offer a calm, homely and highly personalised environment where every child is truly known, valued and supported. Our ethos is built around three simple ideas — Play, Grow, Belong — guiding everything we do.

Nest, founded by Laura, a qualified primary school teacher with over 14 years’ experience, combines professional expertise with a warm, nurturing approach. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, loved and encouraged to explore at their own pace. Our dedicated team take time to understand each child as an individual, adapting activities and routines to help them flourish emotionally, socially and developmentally.

We know that choosing to leave your child in somebody else’s care is a huge decision. At Nest, we provide a cosy, nurturing environment where children feel truly safe, loved and at home.
